Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Click 'Sign Up' in the navigation, choose your role (Coordinator or Volunteer), and fill in your information. You'll receive a verification email to confirm your account.
What's the difference between Coordinator and Volunteer roles?
Coordinators create and manage volunteer opportunities for their organisation. Volunteers sign up for and commit to those opportunities. You can have both roles if you coordinate for one organisation and volunteer for another.
Is KindSquare really free?
Yes! KindSquare is free during our beta period. When we introduce paid plans, there will always be a generous free tier for small organizations. We'll provide 60 days notice before any changes.
For Coordinators
How do I create a volunteer role?
Go to your coordinator dashboard and click 'Create Role'. Fill in the role details (name, day, time, capacity, location), and KindSquare will automatically generate weekly instances for the next 12 weeks.
How do I share opportunities with volunteers?
Each role has a unique shareable link. Copy it and share via WhatsApp, email, or announcements. Volunteers can tap the link and commit in seconds — no app installation required.
What happens when someone skips a date?
You'll receive an email notification immediately when a volunteer skips. Your coverage dashboard will update to show the gap, and you can reach out to other volunteers or find replacement coverage.
Can I edit a role after creating it?
Yes! You can edit role details, change the capacity, or update the location. Changes apply to future instances only — past instances remain unchanged.
How do I delete a role?
From the role detail page, click the settings menu and select 'Delete Role'. This will remove all future instances and notify committed volunteers. This action cannot be undone.
For Volunteers
How do I sign up for a volunteer opportunity?
Tap the shareable link from your organisation, review the role details, and click 'Commit'. Enter your name and email if you're not logged in. You're now committed to all recurring instances of that role.
Can I skip a specific date?
Yes! Log in to your dashboard, find the commitment, and click 'Skip this date' for the specific instance you can't attend. The coordinator will be notified immediately. You remain committed to all other instances.
How do I see my upcoming commitments?
Your volunteer dashboard shows all upcoming commitments across all organisations. You can filter by date, organisation, or role. Click any commitment to see details and manage skips.
Can I withdraw from a commitment entirely?
Yes. From your commitment detail page, click 'Withdraw from Commitment'. This removes you from all future instances. Please only do this if you can no longer fulfill the commitment long-term.
Will I get reminders?
Yes! You'll receive email reminders before each shift with all the details: date, time, location, and what to bring. You can customize reminder timing in your notification preferences.
Technical Issues
I didn't receive a verification email
Check your spam folder first. If it's not there, go to the login page and click 'Resend Verification Email'. Still having issues? Contact support@kindsquare.com and we'll help you out.
I forgot my password
Click 'Forgot Password' on the login page. Enter your email and we'll send you a reset link. The link expires in 1 hour for security.
The shareable link isn't working
Make sure you're using the full URL including the random code at the end. If the link still doesn't work, the role may have been deleted. Contact the coordinator who shared it with you.
I'm not receiving reminder emails
Check your spam folder and add noreply@kindsquare.com to your contacts. Also verify your email preferences in account settings — you may have accidentally disabled reminders.
Can I use KindSquare on my phone?
Yes! KindSquare works in any web browser on mobile or desktop. Native iOS and Android apps are coming in Q2 2026 with push notifications and calendar sync.
Account & Privacy
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account Settings → Privacy → Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your data from our systems. Before deleting, make sure to withdraw from any active commitments to notify coordinators.
Can I export my data?
Yes! Go to Account Settings → Privacy → Export Data. We'll generate a JSON file with all your data (commitments, skips, profile information). This usually takes a few minutes.
Who can see my information?
Coordinators of organizations you've committed to can see your name, email, and commitment status. We never share your information with third parties or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I stop receiving emails?
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of each email. Note: You cannot opt out of essential service emails (commitment reminders, skip confirmations) while maintaining active commitments.
